PAUL MAUSER, F OISERNDORF-ON-THE-NECKAB, GEBIIANY.
EJECTOR DEVICE FOR AUTOMATIC FIREARMS.
' cosmic Speccation of Letters Patent.
Patented Aug. 13,1912.
Application led 'March 2B; 1912. Serial No. 886,852.
i@ all whom it meg; cof/mem; y f Be it Tresor/,n that I, PAUL MAUSER, privy .com 'urciel conncilor. e subject of the King for 1li'nrttenloerg7 residing et Oberndorf-onfthef'leclrar, `in the Kingdom of Wurttemherg, Germany, heveinvented certain new andusetul Improvements in Ejector Devices .4 forz Antoinatic Firearms, of which the following is a tnll, clear, and exact description. le The invention relates 'to an ejector for entometic reerms which consists of an ejector rod longitudinally slidable on the breech closure and a. resilient ejector lever acting with yieldingtappet on the ejector rod. In 3.5 accordance with the invention the tappet is pivoted as e seperate pawl on the4 springeontroiled ejector leve`r'an'd after the ejection it is rocked outward by the ejecto-r rod acting on e nose con this pawl, whereby owing to the heariilg of a second nose'on the pewl on thelower fece of the wall of the frame, 'they ejector lever is simultaneously pressed downward. A
en embodiment of the invention is illustinted in the accompanying j drawing in which:
figure 1 shows the rear part of the re- -l in partiel longitudinal section. Fig. 2
is a, corresponding section with the breech 3o closure in its. rear end position. Fig. 3
. shows the breech closure in longitudinal section part y in elevation with the ejector rod occupying its normalposition. Figs. 4 and 5 show the tappet in plan and side elevation.
The ejector rod u has a limited displacement on the under side of the breech closure and st its front end carries an impact 'Illder u1 rising from rear to front and ich is able to pass outward over the head ie breech closure through a suit-able re- .1erein. The ejector rod is rendered 4opina ,ive by .a nose 'w3 on the reerarm w1.
of thwpawl du which is rotatable about a pin fw and its front aim w carries. lat its upper i5 rounded nose tot. The in w is .mounted on the rear erm :et of tie ejector lever m which is suspended rotatably on the pin, e" il a lower recess in the loclr casing its rear arm being constantly pressed npward by the helical spring m3 embedded in 5,0 the front arm m2. When the breech closure k springs back after ringthe ejector rod which occupies its normal position (Fig. 3) encounters the nose w3 by which it is pressed forward (Fig. l) whereby the empty cartridge case is ejected. As soon as the ejector rod has reached its front end position, upon the further recoil of the breech closure the rear end of this rod presses against the chainfered front fece of the nose 'wB so .that 60 the latter yields in a downward direction whereby the rear lever arm w1. is yrotated. downwardly. l As, however, the nosefw on Ithe front lever arm cu2 bears 0n thevlower face of thc wall of the frame this rotation simultaneously produces the depression of A the rear lever arm mi in opposltion'to the action of the spring mi. In this 'manner the tnppet is depressed to sich an extent that the ejector rod is able to pass over it. The v4 rotation ot' the lever lw on the lever is oonined Within the necessary-limits by means of stops.
When I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: An ejector device for automatic rearms,
comprising a breech closure, an ejector rod longitudinally slide-ble thereon, a frame] an ejector lever, spring means for controlling said' lever, a'yielding tappet in the form of So a separate pawl, provided witha plurality of noses and pivoted to the ejector lever to enable the latterv to act-on' the ejector rod, the said pawl, after the ect ot ejection, be-- ing adapted, by the engagement of th ejem-'85 tor rod with e' nose of. the-pewl', to be rocked outwardly whereby,- owing tothe engagement of the1 other noseo the pawl on the lower fecelof the said frame, the ejector lever is simultaneously depressed. v
In testiinony whereof I have atixed my signature in presence of twowitnesses. y
